Meeting of the twinned towns at the Foire de la Saint Martin

Like every year at the Foire de la Saint Martin (the Martin's fair), on 10th and 11th November, in 2017, the representatives of the twinned towns Bassano del Grappa, Droitwich Spa and Kreis Herford met, for commemorations, a working meeting and a gala evening.

Farmers from Voiron at the Fiera Franca of Bassano

2 farmers and 4 pupils from the agricultural college la Martellière participated at the Fiera Franca of Bassano del Grappa, from 6th to 9th October. All together, 13 people from Voiron participated.

Practice of horse care in Herford’s riding centers

From 23 September to 14 October 2017, 16 students of the Maison Familiale et Rurale of Coublevie practiced their skills in horse care in various riding centres in Kreis Herford. During one weekend, they visited Berlin.

International youthweek at Herford

7 young people from Voiron, 17-18 years old, participated in an international youth meeting at Vlotho (Kreis Herford) from 19^th to 26^th February 2017, accompanied by the Comité de Jumelage de Voiron. The general issue discussed by young people from France, Germany, Italy and Poland was the integration into a democratic Europe, aiming at an horizon 2030. The working languages during the small discussion groups were English and German, also during the various leisure activities and the evening parties organized alternatively by each country. During the final synthesis on the future of Europe, the member of the Bundestag (the German parliament) elected by the Kreis Herford, Stefan Schwartze, was present.

Our 7 youths from Voiron came back very happy, with new european friends and new knowledge. They realized very well how important it is to master foreign languages to be able to communicate with our neighbours.
